Pro Bono Opportunity with Suffolk Law Centre Legal Advice Clinic

One of the services that Suffolk Law Centre provides to residents of Suffolk is one-off, initial legal advice through their pro bono legal advice clinics. The clinics take place remotely, usually via telephone, on a Wednesday and Thursday afternoon / evening and cover employment, family, housing, immigration, personal Injury and wills & probate.

Volunteering opportunity

Suffolk Law Centre Legal Advice Clinic are looking for volunteer qualified solicitors specialising in:

  • Immigration
  • Housing 
  • Employment
  • Wills & Probate

Volunteer solicitors provide verbal advice to clients during 30 minute telephone appointments and also assist with preparing letters of advice.

Advice is covered by the clinic's professional indemnity insurance.

Person specification

Volunteers must be qualified solicitors (with practising certificates) who are experienced in one of the areas of law listed above.  Trainees and newly qualified solicitors are welcome to assist the clinic but would need to be supervised by a qualified solicitor from the firm.

Time commitment 

Ideally volunteer solicitors will be able to commit to volunteering at one clinic per month.
