In-house pro bono

In-house corporate and public sector lawyers make a significant contribution to pro bono legal advice in England & Wales, providing assistance to both not-for-profits and individuals.

Pro bono enables in-house lawyers to give back to their communities, enhances professional and personal development, and can bring long-term benefits for organisations which support their employees to carry out pro bono work.

LawWorks are delighted to support the growing interest in pro bono activity by in-house lawyers, and are happy to call many in-house teams members.

Where an in-house lawyer or team partners with a law firms, pro bono referral scheme, or advice centre, it is likely that the partner organisation’s professional indemnity insurance will cover the in-house team’s pro bono legal work.

For projects or programmes that are not otherwise covered by professional indemnity insurance, LawWorks operates the LawWorks Professional Indemnity Insurance Scheme, which can provide in-house lawyers whose organisations are Members with free professional indemnity insurance for registered pro bono projects.
