Pro Bono Opportunity with Islington Legal Advice Centre

Islington Legal Advice Centre (ILAC) provides free legal advice at weekly drop in sessions on Thursday evenings at 7:00pm in the Crypt of St Mary's Church on Upper Street, London N1 2TX. The service is available to Islington residents but individuals from other boroughs are not excluded.

Volunteering opportunity

ILAC are looking for volunteer qualified solicitors or legal executives specialising in housing law.

Islington is a very mixed borough and includes some of the most deprived areas in the country. Volunteers will therefore be supporting individuals who do not have the resources to access legal advice and would therefore have nowhere else to turn for help. Volunteers will have access to the full range of resources and training provided by LawWorks in order to help provide this support.

Person specification

Volunteers must be qualified solicitors or legal executives (with practising certificates) who are experienced in housing law (min 2 years PQE).

Time commitment

Volunteers are required to commit to one hour or so every fortnight (from 7pm to 8pm) on Thursdays in person at the clinic (Crypt of St Mary's Church on Upper Street, London N1 2TX).

Next steps

If you would be interested in supporting Islington Legal Advice Centre, please send an up to date copy of your CV to Rebecca Howell, Head of Clinics Programme at LawWorks: rebecca.howell@lawworks.org.uk
