Pro Bono Opportunity with Harlow Citizens Advice Law Clinic

The Law Clinic at Harlow Citizens Advice, offers free 30 minute telephone advice appointments for clients who have already passed through the Citizens Advice Gateway assessment and who have been identified as needing specialist legal advice

Telephone advice is provided by local, volunteeer solicitors who attend the appointments within the offices.

Role Description

The Law Clinic at Harlow Citizens Advice is looking for additional volunteer solicitors to help provide legal advice in the areas of immigration and housing law.

This is an opportunity to get involved with and to help the local community in Harlow with their specialist immigration and housing issues which are not covered by any law firms in the town.  It is also a chance to get involved with and see the work of Citizens Advice more generally.

Person specification

The clinic would like an immigration solicitor and a housing solicitor with around 3-5 years' PQE and they should be working within a law firm so that the advice they give within Law Clinic is covered by their professional insurance.

Time commitment

The clinic operates a monthly rolling rota of appointments and it is likely that you would only be asked to attend on one day of each month.  The clinic normally books a maximum of 4 x 30 minute appointments for each solicitor.
