Pro bono opportunity with the Islington Legal Advice Centre (employment)

Islington Legal Advice Centre (ILAC) provides free legal advice at weekly drop-in sessions on Thursday evenings at 7pm in the Crypt of St Mary's Church on Upper Street. The service is available to Islington residents but individuals from other boroughs will not be excluded. Since covid, ILAC have also offered an online service.

Volunteering opportunity

We already have two employment lawyers but are looking for a third volunteer to help us provide legal advice on employment law either at our face-to-face sessions (from 7pm to 8pm) on Thursdays and/or help us with online enquiries (we do not expect attendance every week).

What will volunteers get out of this?

Islington is a very mixed borough and includes some of the most deprived areas in the country. Volunteers will therefore be supporting individuals who do not have the resources to access legal advice and would therefore have nowhere else to turn for help. Volunteers will have access to the full range of resources and training provided by LawWorks in order to help provide this support.

Person specification - what type of volunteers are you looking for?

We are looking for 2 years PQE solicitors, barristers or legal executives (with practising certificates) who are experienced in employment law.
