LawWorks Clinics Network roundtable June 2018 round-up

The June Clinics Network roundtable provided the opportunity for clinic coordinators in London and Manchester to hear updates about LawWorks policy, resources and data collection.

There were contributions and presentations from the following:

  • James Sandbach, Director of Policy and External Affairs at LawWorks, a policy presentation about the Government’s post implementation review of LASPO (the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012) and how clinics can engage in the review.
  • Richard Pitkethly, Head of Learning and Practice at LawWorks, provided an overview of LawWorks’ resources for clinics; Richard has been leading on a refresh of LawWorks’ web based resources and templates for clinics.
  • Milla Gregor, Independent Consultant working on LawWorks impact and monitoring, highlighted the changes to our data collection process. Capturing reliable data about clients and services underpins all of LawWorks’ policy work, resources and learning about what makes for effective pro bono and clinic development across the network.

In addition, the Equality and Human Rights Commission shared a presentation about their ‘EHRC Adviser Support’ helpline.

The presentations are now available as a clinic resource here:
