Courts modernisation - Justice Select Committee Inquiry

LawWorks have provided a submission to the Justice Select Committee Inquiry on Courts and Tribunal Reform, as a joint response with the Litigant in Person Support Strategy partners.

The Justice Select Committee are undertaking an inquiry into the effects and potential effects of the HMCTS reform programme on access to justice, as well as the management of the reform process. The package of reforms, first announced in 2016, proposed moving towards a modern 'digitised' justice system with increasing use of online processes and video hearings, improved IT capabilities, and fewer physical court and tribunal centres. 

The Litigant in Person Support Strategy (LIPSS) partners together represent a key cross-section of stakeholders in the court and tribunal reform process, and the civil justice sphere. You can dowload the joint response below.

The submission also draws on the LIPSS response last year to HMCTS' Estates Strategy consultation, a copy of which can be downloaded below.
