LawWorks response to the Law Commission's consultation on Employment Law Hearing Structures

LawWorks have responded to an important and wide ranging consultation undertaken by the Law Commission on the jurisdiction, role and structure of the Employment Tribunal (ET) and Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT).

The consultation builds on some of the recommendations and issues raised by the Taylor Review of employment rights (which we have also responded to in stages one and two) and the Briggs Review of Civil Courts which highlighted problems around the jurisdictional boundary between civil courts and the ET. Our response focuses on employment rights and enforcement, drawing on evidence and insights from our unpaid wages project.
