Summary of Service

The University of Westminster Legal Advice Clinic provides free legal advice and assistance to the public and learning opportunities for law students at Westminster Law School. All services are supervised by a practicing solicitor or barrister. • Employment advice on, for example, disputes relating to dismissal, procedures at work, discrimination. • Housing advice on non-urgent housing matters for example, return of deposits, disrepair, tenancy termination and service charge disputes. • Family advice on, for example, divorce/dissolution, disagreements between parents and carers regarding arrangements for children, finances following relationship breakdown, domestic violence (non-emergency situations). • Immigration advice is available, for example, applications for Indefinite Leave to Remain, applications based on family ties, Citizenship applications. • Windrush Justice clinic: Advice and assistance is available for making claims under the Windrush Compensation Scheme.
