The clinic will run on designated clinic session days offering the option of a daytime or evening appointment where possible, on a rota basis. A clinic date will be offered to the client and confirmed during triage. The clinic will not operate in August or September.

Summary of Service

The University of Law offers a virtual Legal Advice Clinic for Small Businesses, which provides start-up businesses with a free 30 minute appointment to speak to a Commercial Solicitor in relation to their query. These queries may involve: • Contract terms • Privacy • Shareholder entitlement • Data protection • Setting up a company • Restructuring • General Intellectual Property issues • Trademark & registered designs • General Patent queries • Partnership agreements and general partnership matters • Shareholder agreements and minority shareholder matters • Copyright • Directors’ duties, termination or disqualification This service provides initial advice only and as such the clinic is not able to undertake casework or represent clients in court. We do not take on any claims matters and cannot advise as to the likelihood of success of any claims. Please note: No written advice is given to the clients during this clinic.
