Summary of Service
Prior to your legal advice session our trained student advisers will take details of your case online or via telephone. Please note that you will not receive advice at this point.
This information is then shared with the volunteer lawyer and Director of the Centre who is an experienced solicitor. Once we have obtained this information, we can confirm your legal advice appointment or refer you to other sources or organisations where appropriate.
A group of students will be present during your appointment to observe the session, and assist the lawyer. Written advice is provided if requested. We are unable to consider large quantities of documents (unless otherwise agreed) or provide ongoing casework support.
A written letter of advice or factsheet can be provided if requested after your interview depending on the capacity of the team. We also provide links to appropriate referral agencies, so that you can take the steps necessary to resolve your case.
