St James Legal Advice Centre (SJLAC) has been providing free legal advice in Haringey (Muswell Hill, Colney Hatch and Wood Green) for over 20 years. During that time their pro bono clinics have helped thousands of people with their justice problems – housing, consumer rights, benefits claims, family issues, employment rights; empowering clients to understand their legal rights. Legal aid is now rarely available for these types of issues and so SJLAC’s work is vital in helping to address this ‘justice gap’. SJLAC are made up of a dedicated team of volunteer solicitors, barristers, trainees and law students.
City Community Legal Advice Centre (City CLAC) is a University Community Legal Advice Centre based at The City Law School, City St George's which is part of the University of London. At City CLAC, students, staff and external lawyers volunteer to provide free legal advice and assistance to individuals who are not eligible for legal aid and cannot afford to pay for legal advice. City CLAC covers a wide variety of areas of law including private family law issues, employment, housing disrepair, civil litigation, personal injury and immigration.
Advice Mid Wales is an independent charity providing advice on welfare benefits, debt, income maximisation, consumer rights, housing and employment to clients over a huge rural area. They are keen to expand their service to their clients by offering family law advice and wills and probate information.
South Westminster Legal Advice Centre (SWLAC) provides free legal advice to people on low incomes in London. SWLAC is entirely volunteer run and operates two in-person clinics per week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in Westminster. The service supports clients with legal issues relating to employment, family, consumer, contracts, wills and probate, personal injury and criminal law, among other areas. SWLAC does not provide advice relating to welfare benefits, immigration, debt restructuring or housing law.
The BULAC has been providing initial legal advice to members of the public (and staff and students) in the Bangor region on most areas of civil law since November 2024. With support from final year law students, the clinic has already provided to advice to a huge number of clients in the area, and was recognised for its' efforts at the 2025 Legal News Wales Awards.
