Summary of Service
The Islamophobia Response Unit (IRU) is an independent charity that provides legal support for people affected by Islamophobic incidents, including anti-Muslim hate crime, in England and Wales.
Our purpose is to provide legal guidance and relevant support, and to provide other help suited to each client’s needs, starting with confidentially reporting their experiences of Islamophobia.
Our focus is to pave legal avenues for you to challenge Islamophobia as you encounter it. If you choose, you can add your voice to our work and share your experiences for others to benefit.
The IRU serves five main functions:
1.Provision of free legal guidance.
2.Provision of basic emotional support.
3.Data collection and monitoring.
4.Referrals to partner agencies and signposting to other services.
5.Representation in Employment Tribunals.
