Paid annual leave and the Working Time Regulations 1998

This session will focus on the rights of employees under the Working Time Regulations 1998, following a recent Employment Tribunal decision.

  • A reminder of the technical difficulties which arise in some claims for holiday pay;

  • An explanation of a possible way round the difficulties, [by claiming compensation for the employer’s refusal to permit the employee exercise the right to take paid annual leave];

  • A guide to how much compensation to claim;

  • The description of a "paradigm case”.
