An overview of legal aid

Presented by Vicky Ling, a contributor and general editor of LAG’s Legal Aid Handbook, this course will give an overview of legal aid, with a focus on topics relevant to pro bono clinics.  

Topics covered include:

• An overview of the legal aid scheme
• Exceptional case funding
• Means and merits
• Scope of family, housing, immigration/asylum, debt and Welfare Benefits
• Making referrals
