Delivered by Rhys Taylor, Barrister, this training session will provide the basics and practical tools for advising clients on the complexities that can arise in relation to property interests in the context of cohabiting (as opposed to marriage).
This session will take a practical look at how to:
- prepare a claim and draft a proper letter before claim in a cohabitation case, an essential prerequisite in this area.
- provide tips on how to resolve such disputes via mediation,
- draft legally binding compromises.
The session will steer clear of rote citation of black letter authorities and instead will draw the threads together with a ‘how to’ interactive masterclass looking at the case of ‘Gavin v Stacey.’
