Pro Bono Opportunity with University of Law Midlands Employment Rights Advice Line (MERAL)

Could you spare a Wednesday evening once every 8-10 weeks to help vulnerable members of our community and provide valuable work experience to law students? If so, the University of Law would love to hear from you. We are looking for volunteers to assist with our Employment Rights Advice Line (MERAL). MERAL is a telephone advice service which provides initial employment advice to unrepresented individuals in the Midlands. The service is operated by The University of Law Pro Bono Team from the Birmingham and Nottingham campuses.

Volunteering opportunity

We are looking for volunteers to assist with our Employment Rights Advice Line (MERAL).  The advice is covered by University’s insurance and the work can be done remotely (and subject to your conflict of interest checks).

What will the time commitment be?

One evening (6 – 8pm) approximately once every 8-10 weeks

What will volunteers get out of this?

Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet aspiring lawyers as well as providing employment advice to individuals who may not otherwise be able to access legal advice.
