Centre 70 are looking for qualified lawyers from any specialism to offer initial legal advice on a range of topics, with a limited amount of follow-up notes or letters.
The Monday evening pro-bono surgery provides local people with one-off advice on issues including: consumer, housing, wills and probate, debt, family and employment.
Since the Covid-19 Lockdown there has been an increase in many areas of their work, and currently in need of lawyers to enable the delivery of this essential service.
What will the time commitment be?
The legal surgery takes place on Mondays 7-9pm, at the moment all sessions are delivered by phone. Advising on one session every 4-6 weeks.
What will volunteers get out of this?
Volunteers have expressed how they find the work varied, interesting and rewarding. There is opportunity to be involved in the delivery and development of the service, alongside pro-bono colleagues.

We are looking for qualified lawyers from any specialism. We are not currently able to take on students or paralegals.

Please send a CV to the above email address, and any queries. Once received your information we will ask you to sit-in (virtually) on sessions with existing volunteers. References will be checked.
