Pro bono family, housing and employment law opportunities with the Islington Legal Advice Centre

The Islington Legal Advice Centre provides free legal advice at weekly drop in sessions on Thursday evenings in the Crypt of St Mary's Church on Upper Street. The service is available to Islington residents but individuals from other boroughs are not excluded.

Volunteering opportunity

We are looking for volunteers to help us provide advice on family, housing or employment law, who can commit to one hour per week (from 7pm to 8pm) on Thursdays (or on a rota system).

What will volunteers get out of this?

Islington is a very mixed borough and includes some of the most deprived areas in the country. Volunteers will therefore be supporting individuals who do not have the resources to access legal advice and would therefore have nowhere else to turn for help. Volunteers will have access to the full range of resources and training provided by LawWorks in order to help provide this support.

Person specification - what type of volunteers are you looking for?

We are looking for qualified solicitors, barristers or legal executives (with practising certificates) who are specialised in family, housing or employment law.

What email address should enquiries and applications be sent to?

Please send all enquiries and applications to Kate Buchanan.

Application process - is there any information you would like applicants to provide?

Please provide an up-to-date CV.

Is there a deadline for applications or is this an ongoing opportunity?

This is an ongoing opportunity.
