The LawWorks Clinics Network Report analyses activity across the LawWorks clinic network during the 2025 calendar year, highlighting the growing demand for free legal advice and the vital role clinics continue to play in improving access to justice. It provides insight into the number of enquiries received, the people supported, the legal issues presented, and the demographics of those accessing clinic services.

This year, 283 clinics, representing 89% of the LawWorks Clinics Network, contributed data to the report, providing us with one of the most comprehensive snapshots yet of pro bono clinic activity across England and Wales. The findings reveal a significant increase in demand, with clinics responding to 106,391 enquiries in 2025, up from just over 90,000 the previous year. Despite this growing pressure, clinics supported 81,743 people through legal advice, information and referrals, an increase of almost 20,000 people compared with 2024. This remarkable achievement was made possible by the commitment of 15,674 volunteers, whose dedication continues to ensure access to justice for individuals and communities most in need.

As demand for free legal advice continues to grow, the work of pro bono clinics has never been more important. We hope this report not only highlights the scale of their impact, but also the challenges they continue to face and the importance of supporting and strengthening the network in the years ahead
