This report covers the calendar year 2024, providing insight into LawWorks’ network of clinics, including the volume of enquiries, the number of clients supported, and the demographics across the legal areas in which advice is delivered. In 2024, the continued impact of the cost-of-living crisis and the widening gaps in legal aid provision made these clinics more vital than ever.
Last year clinics across the network have responded to over 90,000 enquiries, supporting more than 61,000 people, providing an invaluable lifeline to those in need of legal advice. The dedication of the 13,138 clinics volunteers has been crucial in ensuring access to justice for individuals and communities most in need. There was also a significant increase in the number of clinics on the network sharing enquiry data, with 91% of clinics (284) participating this year compared to 64% (161 clinics) in 2023; this should be taken into account when making comparisons to previous years.
