Volunteering opportunity
City CLAC are looking for additional qualified lawyers to help in the clinic.
Lawyers can supervise client interviews (by being present during the online meeting); or provide advice at fortnightly advice sessions. City CLAC are particularly looking for lawyers to volunteer as follows:
1. Supervision of general client triaging and drafting (NQ plus preferably)
2. Personal Injury advice sessions (specialist experience essential)
3. Family advice sessions (specialist experience essential)
Volunteer lawyers could be supervising client interviews, feeding back on drafts of triage forms and advice letters; or advising clients (or a mix of the above!) City CLAC volunteers work with their diverse and committed student law firms to provide inspiration to future lawyers and essential legal assistance to clients.
All volunteering is conducted remotely, although the clinic can also accommodate in person if that is the volunteer’s preference.
There is no set time commitment - volunteer lawyers can volunteer as little or as often as they like. The clinic operates between October – July.
All clients are selected and triaged in advance of the advice session, meaning there are no surprises.
Person specification
Solicitors with a current practicing certificate.
For solicitors wanting to advise clients directly, preferably you will have specialist experience in personal injury or family law.
