RIOT HELP
In conjunction with the Law Society, Bar Pro Bono Unit and member firms, LawWorks have set up a scheme, called Riot Help, to assist those affected by the UK riots.
You may have read about Riot Help on the Citizens' Advice Bureau Advice Guide, the info4local service or direct.gov
Riot Help acts as a referral agency and broker, matching individuals, small businesses and not-for-profits with lawyers/solicitors who will provide legal advice on a pro bono (free) basis. Whilst our primary aim is to find free legal aid to those with limited access to funding we also offer practical guidance and information to victims of the riots where referral to a solicitor is not appropriate.
Have you experienced damage to your property, your business premises or your contents? Are you facing bankruptcy, insolvency or a legal dispute? Have you had problems with your insurance, your employment or your finances? Do you need help with your debts, your welfare & benefits or your housing?
Riot Help offers help to victims of the riots all across the country including: Tottenham, Croydon, Peckham, Islington, Hackney, Greewich, Lambeth, Ealing, Greater London, Birmingham, Nottingham and Liverpool.
Riot Help is a seperate form of legal help to that offered by by the Riot Damages Act. If you are out of time or your Riot Damages Claim has been rejected Riot Help may still be able to offer assistance!
