Joint National Pro Bono Conference 2009
The last Joint Conference was held on 9 and 10 November 2009 in London and Manchester respectively. It is called the 'Joint' Conference as it organised by the three branches of the legal professions (barristers, solicitors and legal executives) and involved LawWorks, the Bar Pro Bono Unit and ILEX Pro Bono Forum as well as the three respective professional bodies. The Joint Conference is always open to students and law school staff as well as practising professionals and members of the voluntary sector.
The conferences received great feedback again following the first one in 2007. Hopefully in due course we will have some of the materials from the day to display here.
Joint National Pro Bono Conference 2007
The first ever Joint Conference was held on 17 November 2007 and was hosted by LawWorks, the Bar Pro Bono Unit and ILEX Pro Bono Forum.
It consisted of plenary sessions in front of the entire audience of around 300, as well as a huge range of workshops on all areas of pro bono work, including student pro bono.
The whole day was filmed by Human Rights TV and as result you can view some of the footage on our Pro Bono channel on the site. The rousing address from our President, Lord Philips of Sudbury, is included below.
