BPP School Exclusions Unit
Runner Up - Best Contribution by a Team of Students
“I have been deeply impressed by the passion, commitment and talent shown by the student representatives on the project.”
The BPP School Exclusions Project was developed to address a gap in the provision of legal support to the families of children who have been excluded from school, either permanently or for a fixed term.
The project is the only initiative of its kind currently in existence and is staffed entirely by BPP students who are trained, mentored and overseen by qualified education barristers. Since its launch in March 2010, the initiative has provided representation in 45 cases, aided by its links with education charities such as the Advisory Centre for Education and the Communities Empowerment Network.
