Susanna Winter - Pro Bono Co-ordinator for Baker & McKenzie LLP
Where and when did you start at your organisation?
I have worked in Baker & McKenzie's London office since 2004.
What is your background?
I started my career as a Modern Languages teacher, but re-trained as an information professional, and have managed the Library here for six years. I have been involved in pro bono since 2009.
What interests do you have outside your work?
I am a keen singer, and am a member of City of London Choir. I also enjoy long-distance walking, and as well as participating in the MoonWalk for the past two years, enjoyed taking part in the London Legal Support Trust's Walk the Thames in February.
When and why did you start taking on the pro bono co-ordinator role?
My CSR role at Baker & McKenzie began when I became a member of the firm's charity committee. I gradually became more actively involved, and helped to cover our Head of CSR's maternity leave in 2009 - this included the pro bono co-ordinator role. I was pleased to be able to continue in this co-ordination role, alongside my "day job", on her return.
