We post here any specific opportunities for students to volunteer with other organisations.

3 - Fields in Trust has launched a new initiative to protect outdoor recreational spaces across the country as a permanent living legacy of the Diamond Jubilee in 2012 and the London 2012 Olympics. They are looking for a Legal Intern for 2.5 - 3 days per week to assist in processing the Deeds of Dedication that operate to safeguard the sites in the project. 7 - Citizens Advice are looking for volunteers based in England and Wales to be trained as Volunteer Telephone Adviceline Assessors for their new telephone Advice line. This role will provide you with invaluable training and experience. Please click here to download the information and contact details for the scheme. As the scheme has not, as yet, been introduced into all of the bureaux in England, you are advised to check with your local bureau whether they are currently recruiting volunteers for Adviceline positions. 8 - Newham Monitoring Project (NMP) Newham Monitoring Project (NMP) provides placements for volunteer caseworkers to provide independent advice and support to people from black and ethnic minority communities who are targets of racial attacks and harassment, arrest, police discrimination or misconduct. NMP’s work engages both criminal and civil law areas. Placements are best suited to those with a keen interest in civil liberties.
NMP will consider new applicants all year round, however the next structured intake of students (for placements ranging 3/6/12 month placements of 1-2 days per week) will be in October 2011. NMP values volunteers through providing comprehensive in-house training, support and supervision, external training opportunities and some coverage of expenses.

9 - Community Links is a charity based in the East End of London, which provides advice to the public on welfare benefits, housing, debt, employment law and consumer issues.
They are offering the chance to train as a paralegal, initially assisting clients with filling in the correct legal forms, and then, when sufficiently trained, helping prepare and advocate cases in the Social Security Tribunal.

10 - Law Student/ Graduate Opportunity -- Promoting International LGBTQ Human Rights
The leading LGBTQ human rights group---Asociación Entre Amigos (‘AEA’) is requesting 3rd year law students, or law school graduates for their new legal services office in San Salvador to assist in implementation of new legislation and to provide a full-spectrum of basic legal services to their low-income clients.
It is a great opportunity to be involved with an international human rights clinic start-up, helping shape its direction and making a difference in the lives of LGBTQ persons, fighting the spread of AIDS, fighting stigma and discriminatory practices in Medical care, Education, Employment, and the impunity of hate crimes.
