LawWorks staff member Lia Moses will be running the London Marathon on Sunday in aid of the London Legal Support Trust. Read her story here...
Those of you who’ve taken on the challenge of training for a marathon will know that it isboth gruelling and time consuming. For those that don’t know, let me tell you that it has been 6 months of blisters, lost toenails, muscle aches, muscle cramps, early mornings, many lost opportunities to drink and socialise, and the occasional trip over an uneven paving slab!
Of course there are benefits to this sort of challenge - the feeling of achievement when I cross the finish line is one. But, the whole process will be worthwhile if I can come away from it knowing that my efforts have gone some way to preventing one of London’s
threatened legal advice agencies from closing its doors.
The London Legal Support Trust is
a charity which exists to raise money to supply grants to these agencies. If I
reach my sponsorship target of £2,000 that money will go directly to the
Trust. Just to give you an idea of what the Trust can then do with that
money, £2,500 is enough to cover the overheads for a legal advice clinic in
London for a whole year.
So far I’ve raised only £400 so please dig deep and give as generously as you can by
following this link: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/liamoses or by sending a
CAF cheque to Lia Moses, LawWorks, National Pro Bono Centre, 48 Chancery Lane,
London, WC2A 1JF.
